Rabbi's Reflections ~ יִשְׂרָאֵל In the midst of the Yamim Noraim the Jewish world is acknowledging the one year anniversary of Oct. 7 and what has happened since. Memorial services, gatherings to share feelings and grief, special prayers and poetry are planned all over the world.
In light of increased attacks over the last two days, we are all watching and listening and reading with increased anxiety and concern.
We will dedicate our Shabbat Service this Friday, Oct. 4 to Oct. 7 and beyond. Join us if you can.

Tashlich immediately following the service in the church picnic area. Kever Avot (Cemetery Service) ~ Sunday, October 6 at 10am at Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery. 12000 E Heritage Memorial Ln. Dewey, AZ 86327 Kever Avot is a traditional memorial observance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur when Jews gather at a cemetery to remember their loved ones. Bring cloths and cleaning spray to help us clean the markers.

Temple B’rith Shalom is a small synagogue that supports spirituality and provides a strong Jewish presence in the Quad Cities. Financial support is essential for us to provide High Holiday services and spirituality to our members, our Jewish community and non-members.
The non-member ticket price for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is $125.00 per person per holiday. Children and College students are welcome at no charge. If you decide to become a member at Temple B'rith Shalom by December 31, 2024, the cost of your ticket(s) will be applied to your membership. To reserve your spot and obtain your tickets or for more information on membership, please email or call the office at 928-708-0018. We will be checking tickets at the door. No tickets are required for Temple B'rith Shalom Members

~ Discovering Judaism is an introductory course on Judaism for anyone who wishes to learn more. The course meets on scheduled Thursdays 1:30-2:45 from October 17 through March 27. Contact Rabbi Susan for the schedule and curriculum. There are books to purchase.
~ Women's Mussar engages us in developing personal awareness and effecting deep growth. The course will meet on scheduled Wednesdays from 11:00-12:00 from mid-October through mid-May. For new and returning students of Mussar. Class is limited to 8 women. Required Text: The Spiritual Practice of Good Actions: Finding Balance Through the Soul Traits of Mussar by Greg Marcus. ~ Adult B'nei Mitzvah Study will meet on scheduled Wednesdays from 12:00-1:00. For adults who have not had a formal bar or bat mitzah experience. Information meeting on Wed., Oct. 16 at noon. Service planned for summer 2025.

Sunday, Oct. 27 1:00-2:30pm ~ The Path to Repair: Jewish Obligations of Tikkun Olam Join us as we delve into the Jewish obligation of Tikkun Olam through a diverse range of texts including Torah, Talmud, and modern literature, to uncover the principles of repair and social justice. We’ll examine how these teachings inspire meaningful action in today’s world, and in healing the planet and our communities. We will also provide more information about the projects our Tikkun Olam committee is focusing on this year.
