Rabbi's Reflections ~ תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם One way TBS builds a positive presence in the Quad Cities is through Tikkun Olam ~ repairing the world. I would love to increase our involvement in community programs and events that both inspire those who participate and assist those who benefit from the good works provided by those who can. Currently:
We provide dinner monthly to Prescott Area Support Shelters (Annie Bernkrant).
We walk for Alzheimer's every autumn (Lee Nackman).
We donate knitted hats and scarves to PASS (Yarn Yentas).
We collect compost weekly (Lee Nackman).
We collected dozens of blankets and hats in November for Blankets 4 Kids (Ed Greenberg).
We raised $800 for The Coalition for Compassion and Justice at our Kabbalatke Celebration in December.
I attend monthly meetings of the Quad City Interfaith Council and listen in awe at the local efforts of our neighbor churches.
If you will join our Tikkun Olam Committee and help to bring TBS to the forefront of community involvement and assistance, let me know.
L'shalom, Rabbi Susan
