On Tuesday, the largest pro-Israel gathering ever in America took place in Washington. Close to 300,000 people assembled peacefully for speeches, poetry, Israeli music, and the kind of comfort that standing deep in community offers.
Let there be no question that we grieve for the innocent lives wounded and lost on both sides of this conflict. We grieve for their families. We mourn the senseless lives taken by Hamas both in Israel and in Gaza.
But those who hate Jews and those who would destroy Israel must understand that we will continue to implore the world to join us in striving for peace, tolerance, and the right for Jews to exist throughout the world.
This is who we are.
Am Yisrael Chai, Rabbi Susan
