I continue to follow the news, to listen to podcasts, to feel deeply about Israel. I also laugh with friends, watch silly romance movies, cheer on the DBacks, and delight in the beautiful fall foliage that surrounds me.
I think that's ok. Because that's what they do in Israel. They know how to live their lives in the midst of war. They support and help and pray and they also send their children to school and gather to celebrate life cycle events and share small joys when they can.
It's a delicate balance and it's a necessary balance. It's life.
Peace by Robin Tikvah Barratt
I find peace in the middle of things– in a good discussion, in hearing both street noise and Bach in my apartment. I find peace in the world not in running away from it. My inner peace is my conflicted nature though I have an undivided heart. We spend too much time looking for a way out of life. Turmoil seeking resolution is the peace I can offer you.
If anyone is interested in a silent peace presence in downtown Prescott, let me know. There is some interest in creating signs and organizing a group. Thank you to everyone who sends me podcasts and articles and videos to view. Please know that I cannot view or listen to them all but I appreciate that you are staying informed. Am Yisrael Chai, Rabbi Susan
