Rabbi’s Reflections ~ מחשבות ~ Enthusiasm Our Mussar groups tackles Enthusiasm this week as we continue through our middot - our list of personality traits. We are encouraged to consider how we approach tasks and goals. Do we demur, find reasons not to, sit back and take pause, or do we jump in and tackle tasks with energy and resolve?
I'm a jumper and that can get me into trouble when I act too quickly without taking time to reflect. I like to make decisions right away and move forward on them without delay. That can be both good and not so good. That's why we learn in our Mussar study to work towards balance so that we neither rush ahead too quickly or never leave the starting block. Where are you on this continuum?

Bathroom Leak Update
Hello, fellow TBS congregants As you are aware, our building has been essentially closed since Bill Cadwallender’s Bar Mitzvah. As Buildings and Grounds chair, I have been the lead on what’s been going on and it’s my job to report to you. Just before the Bar Mitzvah began, a water leak was reported in the women’s restroom. I went in, turned the water to the 2 stalls off, had a sign made redirecting use to the men’s restroom, and continued the ceremony, only 1-1/2 minutes late. Religious school cancelled, there was no more that could be done. I returned Monday, and the water had spread to the men’s restroom and hallway. I purchased a water vac, used it and shut the building water down. I called 4 plumbers before I got one to show. He worked for about 3-1/3 hours, and next day a locating service came to find the leak, which is under the floor. The work is to begin Thursday 02/23 morning, weather permitting. Al Steinberg
