TBS Board Meeting The next Board Meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 16 at 2pm at Temple B'rith Shalom. Board meetings are open to all members in good standing. Adult Education
What’s Next on Wednesdays and Thursdays? Rabbi Susan is excited to offer new Adult Learning Classes and our TBS Choir will start soon. Please email her if any of these classes interest you. rabbi@brithshalom-az.org
TBS Choir – open to all members over 13. Rehearsals will be on Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 starting Thursday, Nov. 3. Our first performance will be Friday, Dec. 23 at Kabbalatke.
Monthly yoga and Kabbalah ~ Gentle poses (mostly seated) and shared wisdom from the text Kabbalah: Month by Month. Bring a mat, wear comfy clothes, and spend an hour working out the physical and emotional kinks.
Hebrew Prayerbook ~ Using the text Hineni: Prayerbook Hebrew for Adults, we begin to explore the prayers and Hebrew vocabulary of the siddur. Ability to decode Hebrew is a must but we will improve our Hebrew reading along the way.
Mussar ~ A spiritual practice that can be transformative. Everyday Holiness by Alan Morinis, will help us explore a different personality trait each session with fellow seekers. The group will be closed (meaning no drop-ins after the 1st class) and will require a several month commitment to attend weekly. Eight people needed to make this class.
Great Thoughts ~ Deepen your understanding of Judaism with lively discussions on topics found in the book: Contemporary Jewish Religious Thought by Arthur Cohen.
Torah Trope ~ Learn to read and sing the little trope markings that indicate how we chant Torah. Ability to read music is strongly recommended. The Art of Torah Cantillation by Marshall Portnoy is a step-by-step book.
Judaism’s Ten Best Ideas by Dr. Arthur Green ~ A great starting point for those who would like to learn more about Judaism.
Discovering Judaism ~ For non-Jews interested in exploring Judaism for the sake of conversion and Jews who want to learn more about Jewish lifecycles, holidays, history, text, Israel, and more.
Adult B’nei Mitzvah ~ Many women were not offered the opportunity to become bat mitzvah at age 13 and some men were not involved Jewishly at that time of life. Interested in studying for a bar or bat mitzvah?

Composting vegetable and fruit scraps, flowers, egg shells and coffee grounds instead of landfilling reduces methane gas production and recycles nutrients back to the soil. Methane gas is a significant cause of global greenhouse gas emissions because it captures and retains heat longer than carbon dioxide. Landfills are the third largest source of methane gas emissions in the United States. In addition, compost improves Arizona's soil, which has been degraded by a 20 year drought. Drop off your compost material in a bucket in the sukkah TBS by 11AM on Saturdays and it will be taken to the Prescott Farmer’s Market.

The Men of Temple B'rith Shalom Every Tuesday at 9am at the Wildflower Join the Men of TBS every Tuesday at 9am at the Wildflower restuarant here in Prescott. It's a wonderful opportunity to get to know the Men of TBS better over a cup of coffee and great conversation.
The Women's Book Group has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 11:00am The Ladies Auxiliary by Tova Mirvis is a wonderful read about a community of Orthodox Jewish women who struggle with tradition and contradiction. On October 23 at 3PM, Sonia Harden-Lemke will sing with the Yavapai College Master Chorale in "Mostly Mozart" Program featuring the "Coronation Mass" At the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center. Tickets cost $25.
Joanne Brody will have three of her monochromes hanging in the 'Tis Fall Fine Art Photography Show. ('Tis gallery is on Cortez, next to Bill's Pizza). The Show runs from Sept. 23-October 25.
