Rabbi's Reflections
I am delighted to begin my new adventure as spiritual leader of Temple Brith Shalom. I have been meeting with Board members and planning with Jessica, as I settle into my apartment and find my way around town. My husband, Brian, will live in Phoenix this year as he continues his work as a middle school educator. He plans to be here this Shabbat and many in the future to meet you and to support me on this journey.
How will my arrival change things at TBS? This will be the source of many conversations in the next few weeks and beyond. I am here to serve you and to strengthen what is already good, to develop what might be missing, and to help us all move forward into 5783. With your help, it will be a good and productive, spiritual and compassionate year for us all.
In upcoming weeks, I will share programming ideas and will look forward to your feedback and participation wherever you feel most inspired. If you’d like to meet with me, it’s easiest these next few weeks to share some time in my office. Email me at rabbi@brithshalom-az.org to set up a meeting.
Please join us for my first Shabbat service as together we begin a new chapter at TBS. ~ Rabbi Susan

We’ll share our thoughts and reflections on this day of communal recognition of what we Jews have endured throughout the centuries. We’ll end on a high note as we anticipate Tu B’av, the Jewish day of love that we celebrate on August 11.
