1:00 PM - 2:30 PMTemple B'rith ShalomIs God male or female or beyond either? God is referred to as He in the Hebrew Bible. In the Talmud, the rabbis refer to God as He, but often use the term Shekhinah, which is a feminine noun. In Kabbalah, Shekhinah is thought of as the feminine face of God. In recent times, the name Shekhinah has been used by Jewish feminists as an alternative to male names for God. We will explore the evolution of the idea.
