I want to notify you that Irving Brohner passed away in Phoenix yesterday. Irv and his wife Shirley are the original founders of our beloved Temple. It was their idea many years ago to reach out to the community of Prescott to see if there were any other Jews here and with the few families they found, Temple B'rith Shalom was born.

Irv Brohner was a quiet, friendly and very warm-hearted man. He was among those who were intimately involved in the establishment of Temple B'rith Shalom and securing for us this piece of land and the building that houses our congregation.

His physical mark in Temple B’rith Shalom can be witnessed by the many wood carvings in the hallway and entry of the Temple and on the doors of the sanctuary. The most notable is the TREE of LIFE that he designed, personally carved, assembled and mounted so that congregants could record significant and meaningful moments in their families' lives.
We can see today what a blessing his life has been as we are all here together because of an idea that he and Shirley had and brought to fruition. Their dedicated effort helped to make this dream of a spiritual Jewish home in Prescott, Arizona a reality. We are so grateful for his life!
May it be that the memory of Irving Brohner not only be, forever as a blessing, but an inspiration to us all as well. Irv and his lovely wife Shirley were not just about, talking the talk, they truly walked the walk, and we are the beneficiaries of that beautiful blessing.
May his soul rest in gentle peace.
