Rabbi William L. Berkowitz
 Rabbi Berkowitz grew up in the Boston area. After his ordination from the Hebrew Union College—Jewish Institute of Religion in New York, he served congregations in Boston and Portland, Maine, before moving to Arizona.
Rabbi Berkowitz became Temple B'rith Shalom's first full-time rabbi, and was present for such milestones as the groundbreaking and dedication ceremonies for our synagogue building, the establishment of the congregation's cemetery, and our first Youth Group and Confirmation Class.
Rabbi Berkowitz feels the size of Temple B'rith Shalom is part of its appeal: "Our synagogue is large enough to offer a full calendar of events, from worship services and educational programs to holiday celebrations and mitzvah projects. But it is intimate enough to give each member a way to pitch in and make a difference. It's a place where we can all be on a first-name basis, yet constantly meet and welcome new people. For those like me who live far from relatives, Temple B'rith Shalom feels just like family."
