Title: "Strangers No More"
40 minutes
In the heart of Tel Aviv, there is an exceptional school where children from 48 different countries and diverse backgrounds come together to learn. Many of the students arrive at Bialik-Rogozin School fleeing poverty, political adversity and even genocide. Here, no child is a stranger. The film follows several students’ struggle to acclimate to life in a new land while slowly opening up to share their stories of hardship and tragedy. Together, the bond between teacher and student, and amongst the students themselves, enables them to create new lives in this exceptional community. This film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2011.

RMS TITANIC: Faith and Fate
The centennial of the Titanic’s sinking April 15, 2012 brings renewed interest in this illustrious vessel. When Titanic sailed on her fateful Atlantic crossing she was the largest and most beautiful ship in the world. 1,500 passengers and crew were lost when Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank. Jewish passengers traveled in all three classes on Titanic and the ship had a kosher cook.
Dr. Bob Berlin will discuss the Titanic including its construction, its short life at sea, its sinking and her passengers and crew. Bob will untangle the truth, myth and legend that surround tales of the Titanic. Bob is an historian, cruise lecturer and adjunct professor at ERAU.
